예수님은 아름다운 갈릴리 호숫가에서 당신의 제자들을 부르시고 그들과 함께 삶과 믿음의 공동체를 일구셨습니다. 낮은 곳으로만 흐르는 물처럼 낮은 곳으로 오신 그 분은 호숫가 낮은 자리에서 놀라운 사역을 펼치셨습니다. 호수는 많은 이들에게 삶의 터전과 자원을 제공하는 생명의 공간입니다. 호수 교회는 생명되신 예수 그리스도, 창조주 하나님을 예배하며 함께 호흡합니다. 호수교회는 세상 속에 살지만 세상에 속하지 않은 이들의 보금 자리입니다.

Jesus called His disciples by the beautiful shores of the Sea of Galilee and formed a community of life and faith with them. Like water that flows only to low places, He came to the lowly and carried out His amazing ministry from that humble lakeside. The lake is a space of life, providing many with a foundation for living and a source of sustenance. Lake Church worships Jesus Christ, the Lord of life, and God the Creator, breathing together in unity. It is a resting place for those who live in the world but do not belong to the world.

김철규 담임 목사 Rev. Ryan Kim

김철규 목사는 목회자의 아들로 태어나 대한민국 육군(정훈공보장교)와 대한항공에서 근무한 후, 국제변호사의 꿈을 가지고 미국에 왔다가 목회자의 소명을 받았습니다. 김철규 목사는 하바드 대학교를 비롯한 네 개의 학교에서 영문학, 교육학, 신학과 설교학의 분야의 다섯 개의 학위를 마쳤으며 Harvard University에서는 Edward Hopkins Shareholder Award를 수상했습니다. 목회자가 된 것이 가장 후회 없는 선택이었다고 말하는 김철규 목사는 많은 사람들에게 복음을 알리고 그들의 삶을 윤택하게 하는 신앙 공동체, 생활 공동체를 일구는 꿈을 가지고 있습니다. 그런 꿈의 일부로 유치원과 한글 학교를 운영하고 있으며, 지역내 노인들의 안녕과 복지를 위한 일에도 적극적으로 참여하고 있습니다. 관련 사역으로 텍사스 주 정부로부터 Judge Special Award를 수상했습니다.

Pastor Ryan Kim was born the son of a pastor. After serving in the Republic of Korea Army as a public information officer and working for Korean Air, he came to the United States with dreams of becoming an international lawyer. However, during his time here, he received a calling to pastoral ministry.

Pastor Kim earned five degrees in English literature, education, theology, and homiletics from four different schools, including Harvard University, where he received the Edward Hopkins Shareholder Award. He says that becoming a pastor was the most fulfilling and regret-free decision of his life.

He dreams of building a faith community and a life-sharing community that spreads the gospel and enriches people's lives. As part of that dream, he operates a preschool and a Korean language school and actively engages in work to support the well-being of seniors in the local community. For his related ministry efforts, he received the Judge Special Award from the State of Texas."
