We are the aroma of Christ.

We rely heavily on what we see. Next comes what we hear, and then perhaps what we touch. By comparison, we often think that smell and taste are less important. Smell, in particular, is often overlooked.
Yet scientists tell us that much of what we experience as taste is actually influenced by our sense of smell.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that four out of five aspects of flavor are perceived through the nose.
Our sense of smell is also closely connected to memory. When we struggle to remember something, a familiar scent can suddenly reconnect us to the past. Because certain people are associated with certain smells, we can sometimes remember a person simply by catching a familiar fragrance.
The Bible describes our identity in several ways—light (sight), salt (taste), and fragrance (smell). It is significant that fragrance is one of them. Therefore, it is worth asking ourselves what kind of fragrance we are spreading to those around us. We are the aroma of Christ.
Let us take a moment to reflect on the kind of fragrance our lives are giving off and whether others can sense Christ through us.
