영적인 열매 Spiritual Fruits

투자가가 좋은 투자처를 고르기 위해 연구하고 노력하듯, 저는 목회자로서 영적인 열매를 맺을 만한 사람들에게 저의 시간과 노력을 좀 더 투자하려고 노력합니다. 한 영혼, 한 영혼을 귀히 여김과 동시에, 하나님 나라에 효과적으로 기여할 수 있는 방법들을 생각하는 것입니다. 예수님은 열 두 명을 키우셨지만, 그들이 세상을 변화시킨 것처럼 말입니다. 제가 볼 때 시간과 노력을 투자해서 가장 큰 복리 효과를 볼 수 있는 것은 청소년들입니다. 제가 처음 텍사스에 와서 만난, 그 때 기저귀 차던 애들이 벌써 고등학교를 다니고 있습니다. 지금 이 자리에 있는 이 청소년 아이들이 대학을 졸업하고 사회에 진출하는 것도 멀지 않습니다. 이 아이들이 능력 있는 개인들로 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 동시에 하나님 앞에 헌신된 일꾼들로 이끌면 매우 효과적인 사역일 수 있습니다. 하나님의 나라는 계속 커져 갑니다. 과거 이천 년 전부터 그러했던 것처럼 말입니다. 세상은 타락하고 물질주의는 팽배하지만, 그렇다고 하나님의 나라의 성장을 막을 수는 없습니다. Just like investors research and work hard to find good investment opportunities, I strive to invest my time and effort in people who are likely to bear spiritual fruit as a pastor. This means valuing each and every soul while also considering ways to contribute effectively to the Kingdom of God — much like how Jesus invested in twelve disciples who went on to change the world. In my view, the greatest compound return on the investment of time and effort comes from investing in youth. The children I first met when I came to Texas, still in diapers back then, are now in high school. It won’t be long before these young people, who are with us today, graduate from college and step into society. Helping them grow into capable individuals while guiding them to become devoted workers for God can be a highly impactful ministry. The Kingdom of God continues to grow, just as it has for the past two thousand years. Though the world is fallen and materialism is rampant, nothing can stop the growth of God's Kingdom.
