죽음의 권세를 이기신 예수님! Jesus who has conquered the power of death.

한국에서는 사형수들의 형이 집행된 다음 교도관들이 아무도 손을 데려하지 않는다고 합니다. 집행된 이의 몸을 가장 먼저 만지는 자는 그 귀신에 씌이게 된다는 미신이 있기 때문입니다. 그래서 장례가 늦어지기도 한다고 합니다.
미신적으로 보이기도 하지만, 성경적인 개념에서도 사람이 죽으면 그의 영혼은 어두움에 붙들리게 된다고 보는 경향이 강합니다. 동서고금을 막론하고 흉악범들의 몸을 만지는 것은 쉽지 않은 일일 겁니다.
하지만 그런 암묵적 금기를 깨고 감히 그 몸에 손을 대는 사람들이 있으니, 그들은 바로 크리스찬 교도관들입니다. 그들이라고 자신을 믿는 것은 아닙니다. 하지만 그들에겐 그 두려움을 깨트리는 믿음이 있습니다. 마귀보다 강한 주님, 죽음의 권세를 이기신 예수님! 그리고 나는 그 분을 따르는 사람이라는 믿음이 있습니다. 그것이 그들에게, 또 우리에게 용기를 주고 소망을 부여합니다.
우리 주님 살아나셨습니다! 우리도 그 부활에 참여할 것입니다!
In Korea, it is said that after an execution is carried out, prison guards are often reluctant to touch the body. There is a superstition that the first person who touches the executed body may become possessed by the spirit of the deceased. Because of this, funerals are sometimes delayed. This may sound like mere superstition, yet even from a biblical perspective, there has long been a strong sense that when a person dies, their soul is overtaken by darkness. Across cultures and throughout history, it has never been easy to touch the body of a violent criminal.
And yet, there are those who break this unspoken taboo and dare to lay hands on such bodies—Christian prison guards. It is not because they trust in themselves. But they have a faith that overcomes that fear: the Lord who is stronger than the devil, Jesus who has conquered the power of death. And they believe, “I belong to Him.” That faith gives them courage—and gives us hope.
Our Lord has risen! And we too will share in His resurrection!
