예수 부활하셨습니다! Jesus is risen.

우리 주님의 부활은 그 분을 사랑하던 사람들에 의해 발견되었습니다. 예수님의 몸에 향품을 넣으려던 여인들이 대표적입니다. 그 여인들은 죽었으니 끝이라 생각하지 않았던 것 같습니다. 주님을 사랑하는 마음으로 찾아간 그 여인들을 반긴 것은, 그러나 예수님의 죽은 몸이 아니라 광명의 천사였습니다. 사랑하면 놀라운 것을 발견하게 되나 봅니다. 여인들의 증언은 제자들에게 이어졌고, 베드로와 다른 한 제자는 힘차게 달려 무덤에 이르러 빈 무덤을 보았습니다. 이후 예수님께서는 다락방에 모여 있던 제자들에게 나타나셨고, 부활을 믿지 않던 도마에게도 나타나셨으니, 예수님의 부활은 이제 더이상 몇몇 사람들만 알고 있는 비밀이 될 수 없었습니다. 권세자들은 예수님의 부활 소식을 막기 위해 군인들을 매수했지만 소용 없었습니다. 거짓은 진실을 가릴 수 없고, 어두움은 빛을 이길 수 없기 때문입니다. 예수 부활하셨습니다! 과연 그 분은 부활하셨습니다! The resurrection of our Lord was first discovered by those who loved Him deeply. Chief among them were the women who came to anoint Jesus’ body with spices. These women did not believe that death was the end. Out of love, they went to the tomb—and what greeted them was not the lifeless body of Jesus, but angels clothed in light. It seems that love opens our eyes to see the most amazing things. The women’s testimony was passed on to the disciples. Peter and another disciple ran to the tomb and saw that it was empty. Soon after, Jesus appeared to the disciples gathered in the upper room, and even to Thomas, who had doubted. The resurrection could no longer remain a secret known only to a few. The authorities tried to silence the truth by bribing the guards—but to no avail. Lies cannot hide the truth. Darkness cannot overcome the light. Jesus is risen. Truly, He is risen!
