나라의 지도자들을 위해서 기도해야 할 때입니다. It is time to pray for the leaders of nations

미국이 기침하면 한국에 감기에 걸린다는 말이 있습니다. 한국이 감기에 걸렸는지는 아직 모르겠지만, 레소토는 지금 폐렴에 걸린 것 같습니다. 미국의 원조가 끊기는 바람에 실업률이 매우 높아진 것 같습니다. 거기다가 높은 관세가 예정되어 있는데 그럼 그 작은 나라의 산업이 망할 것 같습니다. 한 가지만 보면 안되고 모든 것이 연결되어 있는 세상인데 말입니다. 나라의 지도자들을 위해서 기도해야 할 때입니다. 지도자들이 하나님을 두려워하고 나라를 잘 이끌고 갈 수 있도록, 한 가지만 보지 말고 전체를 아우를 수 있도록, 하나님의 나라를 생각할 수 있도록 기도해야 하겠습니다. 복음의 불씨가 유럽과 북미에서는 꺼져가는지도 모르겠으나, 남미와 아프리카 대륙에서는 계속해서 활활 타오르고 있습니다. 저들은 가난하기 때문에 더 갈급합니다. 그래서 그들에겐 더 큰 가능성이 있습니다. 저들을 위해, 저들의 삶과 영혼을 위해, 복음과 하나님의 나라를 위해 기도합시다. There is a saying: "When America coughs a few, Korea gets the flu." Whether Korea has caught the flu yet, I’m not sure—but it seems Lesotho has come down with pneumonia. With U.S. aid being cut off, unemployment there has surged. On top of that, a high tariff is expected, which could devastate the small country's industries. We live in a world where everything is connected; we cannot look at only one part without seeing the whole. It is time to pray for the leaders of nations— that they may fear God, lead with wisdom, and consider not just isolated issues but the greater picture; that they may lead with hearts aligned to God’s Kingdom. Though the flame of the Gospel may be fading in parts of Europe and North America, it is still burning brightly in South America and Africa. Their poverty has made them more desperate, and that desperation has opened doors for greater possibilities. Let us pray—for them, for their lives and souls, for the spread of the Gospel, and for the coming of God’s Kingdom.
